Can't see previous appointments

Today is January 5. Most, but not all, of my previous appointments in months November and earlier are gone. It seems that the only ones I can still see are the recurring yearly dates I have entered. Where did they go and how can I see them again?
Also, is there a way to turn off the general holiday calendars? Seeing many of the holiday entries is useful, but I don't want to see the less popular ones like Lincoln's Birthday.

Hi there,
Try the following to see those older events:

• Go into the Settings app (not Settings in myCal)
• Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
• Scroll down to the Calendars section
• Tap Sync. I personally have this set to All Events

With regards to hiding specific events within the holiday calendar, unfortunately I don't have anything that does that. You can filter out the entire holiday calendar with the Calendar Filter option (the tick list icon in the toolbar), but not specific events.
