Alarm and Alert

I love the look and feel of myCal Pro (!), but, I can't figure out how to get the alarm to sound. I've turned everything on in the Notification Center for myCal, and the event has an Alert set, but, I don't get an alarm. Where have I gone wrong?

Hi Kate!
Not sure what might be going wrong here, events and alerts are stored in the internal calendar database, so alerts should trigger automatically when they are due.

Could you add a test event and set the start time for 5 minutes later, and set the alert to trigger at the time of the event.
Then wait 5 minutes. Does it trigger?
Once the time is up can you then tap the Info icon, then tap 'Email log data to support'

Regards
John

Hi John,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just sent you the log data. The event did not trigger.

In NOTIFICATIONS - I have the app set to ON for Notification Center, Alert Style is ALERTS, the badge app icon is ON, Sounds ON, view in lock screen ON.

Confused!

Kate

BTW - my username and email do not match. I will send an email with the x-ref.

Can you check the notifications that you have set for the Calendar app?
Since myCal PRO stores all the events you add and edit in the internal calendar database, its the Calendar app that actually raises the alerts.

Hi John,

I updated Notifications as you suggested. The Event Alarm does fire now, but, when I open the event from the lock screen, I see the native iOS calendar. I soooooo prefer your interface, I didn't want to ever see that native app again!

Hi Kate!
Ok that is at least partially good news at least.

I'll be working on changes soon that will mean the notifications will open myCal PRO instead of the native calendar, so watch this space.

Regards
John

Wow! I should have been this responsive when I was a systems designer!!!

Thanks for the quick reply on this issue, and on my default alarm feature request!
