Previous weeks disappeared

Postby koomie » Fri Dec 07, 2018 7:08 pm

I have been using Mycal for over a year now and love it. Recently, I had to restore my iphone to factory settings due to a problem with the phone and since then, myCal history has completely disappeared! My calendar only goes back 4 weeks, anything prior to that has been completely wiped. Now I notice that my calendar is losing a week per week. Has anyone else experienced this problem? can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Hi Karen!
Unfortunately this is default iOS behaviour, but don't worry! Here is how you can change that and get those older events back onto your device:

  • Go into the Settings app (not Settings in myCal)
  • Tap the Calendar option
  • Tap Sync. I personally have this set to All Events

Hi John, can I expect this happening a lot on the iOS? At least the damage isn't permanent, but still.

Hi Morejon,
You have misunderstood how this works. The golden source for the calendar data is the cloud. By default iOS will sync the most recent parts of it to your device, but not all. The option I described above simply allows the device to sync all events. This isn't an error in iOS, it is by design.
